Book Terra Nostra Garden Hotel in Furnas (Azores)

Terra Nostra Garden Hotel sits directly next to Parque Terra Nostra, one of the world's best botanical gardens featuring over 2,000 different plant species. Hotel guests receive 24-hour access to the gardens and the large thermal mineral pool, which is open exclusively to them after public closing hours at 5pm. This private after-hours access allows guests to soak in the warm, iron-rich waters under the stars, with no crowds.

The hotel's restaurant specializes in Azorean cuisine, using locally sourced ingredients and regional wines guided by an on-site sommelier. Breakfast is included and offers an à la carte continental spread with fresh local produce, cheeses, and pastries. The Gardener's Bar serves tapas-style meals and cocktails with live music performances several evenings per week.

Rooms are decorated in neutral tones with wooden furniture and Art Deco styling that reflects the hotel's 1935 heritage. Each room includes a private bathroom, air conditioning, and soundproof windows. Options range from standard double or twin rooms to garden-view rooms with balconies overlooking the botanical park.

The wellness centre offers personalized treatments including full body massages, foot massages, and couples massages, along with a sauna and indoor heated pool. Guests can use the fitness centre, attend yoga classes, or relax in the spa lounge with sun loungers. The hotel also has two swimming pools - one indoor and one outdoor - both open year-round.

The hotel is located in Furnas Valley, surrounded by calderas and mineral springs, a short drive from volcanic beaches and two golf courses. Nearby attractions include Furnas Lake where local cozido is cooked underground using volcanic steam, and the Gorreana Tea Plantations, a gourmet tea destination. On-site bike rentals and walking tours let guests explore the Área de Paisagem Protegida das Furnas.
